Why Nahida's relationships define her growth
Nahida begins her story with access to enormous information but very little ordinary social experience. Her relationships turn abstract wisdom into judgment formed through trust, disagreement and shared risk.
She rarely treats another person as a simple follower. Instead, she studies what they can choose, gives them information and builds plans in which different strengths matter. That approach separates her leadership from the Akademiya's desire to control people through knowledge.
The relationships below are not a romance ranking. They explain how each person changes Nahida's understanding of responsibility.

The Traveler: witness, ally and keeper of a lost truth
The Traveler first works with Nahida inside the Sabzeruz dream. Their trust develops through problem solving: Nahida guides without demanding blind obedience, and the Traveler continues acting when her confinement prevents physical intervention.
During the rescue operation and Scaramouche confrontation, the Traveler becomes the person who can convert Nahida's strategy into action. Later, the Traveler accompanies her into Irminsul and remembers Rukkhadevata after the world forgets.
That retained memory creates an unusual bond. The Traveler knows a foundational truth about Nahida's origin that she can no longer remember, while respecting the life she is building after the deletion.
Rukkhadevata: predecessor, origin and absent mentor
Rukkhadevata is the predecessor against whom Nahida is unfairly measured and the source from which her new life is created. Nahida spends centuries feeling inferior to an idealized figure she never had the chance to know.
Their meeting in Irminsul is brief but decisive. Rukkhadevata explains the corruption, recognizes Nahida's value and asks her to make the deletion that only a separate consciousness can perform.
Afterward, the relationship survives only through consequences and the Traveler's memory. It is best described through origin and succession, not by merging them into one personality.

Wanderer: accountability without abandonment
Wanderer enters Nahida's care after the fall of his false-god form and his attempt to alter Irminsul. She understands the danger he presents, but also recognizes that erasing memories does not erase consequences.
Nahida gives him a way to recover truth and later assigns work that uses his abilities. Her approach is neither uncomplicated forgiveness nor revenge. She maintains authority, sets expectations and allows the possibility of change.
Their relationship highlights her mature form of compassion. Helping someone does not require pretending that the harm never happened.
Dottore: negotiation with a stronger enemy
Il Dottore represents knowledge without ethical restraint. He experiments on people, assists the sages' god project and treats consciousness as material. This makes him an ideological opposite as well as a physical threat.
Nahida cannot safely defeat him in direct combat. She creates leverage by threatening a Gnosis and negotiates for information and the destruction of his other segments. The outcome is costly, but passive refusal would not protect Sumeru.
The encounter shows why intelligence in Genshin is not the same as perfect control. Nahida makes a constrained decision while facing incomplete information and a stronger opponent.
Scaramouche before he becomes Wanderer
Nahida first confronts Scaramouche as the core of the Akademiya's false-god project. He is an enemy empowered through the Electro Gnosis, mechanical construction and harvested knowledge, not yet a person seeking a new path under her supervision.
She defeats the project by collecting battle experience and sharing it with Sumeru, then protects the defeated consciousness instead of treating it as disposable equipment. That decision creates the conditions for later truth and accountability.
The name Wanderer belongs to the identity he chooses after his Irminsul attempt and recovery of memory. Using the right name for each period helps readers understand that Nahida's relationship with him changes rather than beginning as uncomplicated friendship.
Setaria, Dunyarzad and Nahida's attention to individuals
Dunyarzad matters because Nahida treats one vulnerable person's dream and festival as worthy of an Archon's attention. Her suffering prevents the Sabzeruz plot from becoming only a puzzle about technology.
Setaria works inside the Akademiya and initially participates in its system. Nahida and the Traveler use familiar voices and personal memory to force her to confront the gap between her values and her actions. The method is manipulative, but it aims at moral recognition rather than simple punishment.
Both relationships show Nahida applying knowledge at a human scale. She learns what a person fears, hopes for or has avoided, then makes that inner conflict impossible to ignore.
The rescue group and the people of Sumeru
Alhaitham, Cyno, Dehya, Nilou, Tighnari and others contribute different skills to the operation against the sages. Their cooperation proves that Nahida's future authority does not need to reproduce the Akademiya's hierarchy.
Dunyarzad gives the Sabzeruz crisis a personal center. Setaria demonstrates how a person inside a harmful institution can be pushed to reconsider her role. The Aranara reveal forms of memory and community that formal scholarship often fails to value.
Together these relationships teach Nahida that a nation is not an information system to optimize. It is a network of people whose experience, freedom and trust give knowledge meaning.
