Who is Shenhe?
Shenhe is a human woman from Liyue who was raised by adepti after a traumatic childhood encounter with a dangerous remnant of a god. She is not an adeptus by species, even though her clothing, training and manner make the confusion understandable.
Cloud Retainer becomes her master and guardian. Years in the mountains give Shenhe exceptional combat ability and familiarity with adeptal arts, while leaving her uncertain about ordinary social expectations.
Her central story is not a transformation from monster to human. It is the recovery of connection after adults, fate-readers and trauma taught her to fear her own emotions.
The childhood sacrifice and the cave
After the death of Shenhe's mother, her grieving father attempts to use her in a ritual intended to restore what he lost. She is left in a cave with a monstrous being and survives a prolonged struggle through fierce will.

Shenhe wields a polearm and uses Cryo through techniques shaped by exorcism and adeptal training. Her spirit talismans and spectral forms make her attacks look ritualistic rather than simply icy.

Yun Jin's opera presents the Divine Damsel as a heroic figure who defeats a monster. The performance preserves a community's need for courage, but it simplifies the abandoned child, betrayal and years of isolation behind the legend.
After learning the truth, Yun Jin adapts the performance to honor Shenhe as a living person rather than a distant symbol. Shenhe then watches her own trauma transformed into art in the company of people who know her.

The return to human society
